Fasting Glucose

Fasting glucose is the standard single-point measure of blood sugar.

Reference range

Optimization target: 70–90 mg/dL. Functional optimization context only — not a diagnostic assertion. Range varies by lab, age, and sex.

Why it matters

Fasting glucose is necessary but not sufficient. By the time it rises, insulin resistance has typically been present for years. REVRCEL panels read fasting glucose alongside HbA1c and fasting insulin so a single high value is contextualized rather than misread.

How REVRCEL clinicians read it

Read in the context of insulin and HbA1c. A single elevated value is repeated, not acted on in isolation.
